The Exorcist Added to National Film Registry

The Exorcist is one of the 25 films added today to the Nation Film Registry.

According to Variety, along with The Exorcist, The Pink Panther, All the President's Men, Saturday Night Fever, Airplane! and The Empire Strikes Back also made this year's cut.

The Registry was created in 1989 by the National Film Preservation Act to ensure the survival of works deemed "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant."
