Locked doors weren’t the answer to stopping the undead in Lucio Fulci’s 1979 classic, Zombi 2. One decided to break through and put poor Paola’s (Olga Karlatos) eye out on a piece of the splintered door.
Yikes! It hurts just to watch this scene. If simply being poked in the eye is a bitch, imagine this scenario. The scene takes its time in delivering the moment; making her (and us) think about what is about to happen. It could very well be one of the most painful acts of violence in a Horror film and a no-brainer for anyone’s Hall of Fame.
